About When Is Now Foundation
An online sanctuary for grief literacy, remembrance, and community care.

When Is Now Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit online sanctuary created for moments when grief feels isolating or unseen. In a world that often rushes past loss, we offer a slower, steadier presence—one that gently reminds you, again and again, that you do not have to carry this alone.
At the heart of our work is a simple belief: grief is not something to fix or overcome, but something to listen to. It is a sacred teacher—one that invites compassion, ritual, and deeper belonging. Through thoughtfully curated talks, books, articles, and podcasts, we share voices that help make sense of grief without trying to tidy it away.
Our mission is to walk alongside people facing loss in its many forms—whether grieving a loved one, mourning a beloved pet, or navigating life changes that reshape identity and meaning. Through resources, rituals, and storytelling, we create spaces that honor memory, strengthen connection, and offer hope without asking anyone to hurry their healing.
Grounded in Dr. Alan Wolfelt’s companioning model of grief and informed by educational leadership research, our approach weaves together scholarship, ceremony, and care. Every offering is designed to help people ritualize transition and transform uncertainty into restoration.
We believe grief is not a problem to be solved—it is a journey to be honored. Explore our available resources, share them with your community, and let them companion you through loss and restoration.

How We Build Trust
We curate with care. Resources are selected for clarity, compassion, and credibility—and we aim to name the kind of support each resource offers so you can choose what fits your moment.
If you are in crisis or feel at risk of harm, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line in your region. If you’re in the U.S., you can call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. When Is Now Foundation does not provide emergency or clinical crisis intervention.
